There was a farmer, had a farm

Here's the snappy explanation about why I'm writing this blog, and why I named it OAEieio.  Actually, I'm going to try not to be too snappy because I'm not paid to be a poet.  I am being paid (25% at the moment) to be a member of the User Reference Group for Sakai OAE.  The purpose of this blog is to keep something of a journal describing the work I do weekly in this role.  The presumed audience includes the folks I work for.  The presumed audience does not include the general public, and not even the Sakai Community, really.

The "e-i-e-i-o" part is a reference to how hard it has been for me to remember the order of the acronym: OAE = Open Academic Environment.  The song helps me remember that the "E" comes last.  And thinking of the song I suddenly realize that pigs, sheep, horses: oink-oinks here and baa-baa there isn't a terrible metaphor.  All those voices, all those tools.
